Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Mining & Oil and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Manila Electri (PS:MER), which rose 3.51% or 11.200 points to trade at 330.200 at the close. San Miguel Cor (PS:SMC) added 2.86% or 2.000 points to end at 72.000 and Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI) was up 2.09% or 0.120 points to 5.860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petron (PS:PCOR), which lost 3.55% or 0.320 points to trade at 8.700 in late trade. Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) declined 3.49% or 0.150 points to end at 4.150 and Dmci Holdings (PS:DMC) shed 1.44% or 0.180 points to 12.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 77 and 36 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.41% or 5.10 to $1233.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.60% or 0.20 to hit $33.27 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.17% or 0.06 to trade at $35.35 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.37% to 7.2618, while USD/PHP fell 0.28% to 47.488.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 97.39.
