Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Real Estate & Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.38% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index climbed 2.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 4.92% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.280 at the close. Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) added 2.94% or 0.030 points to end at 1.050 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 2.27% or 0.040 points to 1.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU), which lost 4.52% or 0.280 points to trade at 5.910 in late trade. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) declined 2.58% or 0.040 points to end at 1.510 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) shed 2.55% or 0.050 points to 1.910.
The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which rose 12.26% to 2.93, Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was up 8.70% to settle at 2.500 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which gained 8.53% to close at 3.180.
The worst performers were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was down 8.33% to 0.660 in late trade, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which lost 3.74% to settle at 1.030 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 2.70% to 0.7200 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 rose and 5 declined, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.02% or 0.52 to $51.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.96% or 0.52 to hit $54.69 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.15 to trade at $1255.25 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.05% to 3.9191.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 100.43.
