Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.02% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 4.06% or 0.147 points to trade at 3.766 at the close. Meanwhile, ACS Const. (MC:ACS) added 2.76% or 0.765 points to end at 28.495 and FCC (MC:FCC) was up 2.53% or 0.144 points to 5.834 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which fell 1.81% or 0.103 points to trade at 5.590 at the close. Grifols (MC:GRLS) declined 1.80% or 0.785 points to end at 42.715 and Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) was down 1.67% or 0.135 points to 7.931.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 115 to 104 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.14% or 1.50 to $1073.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.01% or 0.38 to hit $37.13 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.98% or 0.40 to trade at $39.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.0985, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.7246.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.80% at 97.63.
