Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.26% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MILAN:PMII), which rose 4.43% or 0.0405 points to trade at 0.9550 at the close. Meanwhile, Intesa Sanpaolo (MILAN:ISP) added 2.47% or 0.0780 points to end at 3.2360 and Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) was up 2.43% or 0.46 points to 19.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which fell 4.99% or 0.4200 points to trade at 8.0050 at the close. Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) declined 1.64% or 0.12 points to end at 7.51 and Yoox (MILAN:YOOX) was down 1.45% or 0.39 points to 26.53.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 216 to 207 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.52% or 1.60 to $43.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.45% or 1.22 to hit $48.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.43% or 4.90 to trade at $1134.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1245, while EUR/GBP fell 0.62% to 0.7347.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 95.80.
