Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Insurance and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 9.04% or 1.21 points to trade at 14.44 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 4.88% or 0.040 points to end at 0.860 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was up 4.18% or 4.81 points to 119.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 13.64 in late trade. Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) declined 3.94% or 0.130 points to end at 3.160 and Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) shed 1.61% or 0.11 points to 6.71.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 10 and 68 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.30% or 0.16 to $53.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.50% or 0.28 to hit $56.09 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1238.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.27% to 334.380, while USD/NGN fell 0.71% to 314.750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 100.85.
