Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Food & Beverages and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Pegasus (IS:PGSUS), which rose 7.29% or 0.920 points to trade at 13.540 at the close. Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) added 5.77% or 0.060 points to end at 1.100 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) was up 4.55% or 1.00 points to 22.96 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 3.33% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.290 in late trade. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) declined 1.58% or 0.52 points to end at 32.38 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) shed 1.41% or 0.010 points to 0.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 231 to 104 and 71 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.07% or 0.85 to $1139.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.33% or 0.18 to hit $54.08 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.19 to trade at $57.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.57% to 3.5415, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 3.6827.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 103.39.
