Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Distributors, Holding Companies and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares added 0.30% to hit a new 3-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Sonasid (CS:SOND), which rose 7.07% or 27 points to trade at 409 at the close. Label Vie (CS:LBV) added 4.66% or 55 points to end at 1235 and Residences Dar Saada SA (CS:RDS) was up 4.60% or 8.00 points to 182.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stokvis Nord Afrique (CS:SNA), which lost 6.22% or 1.35 points to trade at 20.36 in late trade. Zellidja S.A (CS:ZELI) declined 5.97% or 8.90 points to end at 140.10 and Afriquia Gaz (CS:AGAZ1) shed 4.60% or 112 points to 2325.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 20 and 8 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.33% or 0.66 to $50.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.13% or 0.60 to hit $53.60 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.65 to trade at $1172.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.47% to 10.7050, while USD/MAD rose 0.64% to 10.0510.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.84% at 101.12.
