Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 8.86% or 0.1880 points to trade at 2.3110 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT) added 1.95% or 0.1810 points to end at 9.4780 and Portucel (LISBON:PTI) was up 1.68% or 0.0620 points to 3.7570 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which fell 3.78% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.2800 at the close. EDP (LISBON:EDP) declined 0.71% or 0.0240 points to end at 3.3720 and EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) was down 0.65% or 0.0420 points to 6.4510.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 39 to 20 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) fell to all time lows; down 3.78% or 0.0110 to 0.2800.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 3.07% or 1.51 to $50.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.12% or 0.93 to hit $44.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.13% or 12.40 to trade at $1106.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.1024, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.7070.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 97.18.
