Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.22% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.75% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.6400 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.60% or 0.2100 points to end at 13.3450 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.58% or 0.0110 points to 0.7070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 1.68% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1760 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 0.58% or 0.0420 points to end at 7.1580 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 0.52% or 0.0001 points to 0.0191.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 33 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.76% or 0.81 to $46.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.14% or 0.93 to hit $44.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.24% or 3.30 to trade at $1346.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1169, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8650.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.63.
