Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Food & Beverages and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.29% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES), which rose 4.79% or 1.02 points to trade at 22.30 at the close. Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 2.73% or 0.25 points to end at 9.42 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 2.60% or 0.120 points to 4.740 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which lost 2.71% or 0.37 points to trade at 13.28 in late trade. Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) declined 2.45% or 0.110 points to end at 4.380 and Ayen Enerji (IS:AYEN) shed 2.00% or 0.070 points to 3.430.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 170 to 154 and 81 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.27% or 3.65 to $1328.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.77% or 0.35 to hit $46.03 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.43 to trade at $47.80 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.57% to 2.8940, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 3.2029.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 96.60.
