Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which rose 1.56% or 3.65 points to trade at 237.65 at the close. Aegon (AS:AEGN) added 1.46% or 0.073 points to end at 5.085 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 1.21% or 0.23 points to 18.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which lost 2.05% or 0.24 points to trade at 11.46 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 1.48% or 0.07 points to end at 4.86 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) shed 0.61% or 0.021 points to 3.414.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 78 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.46% to 22.16.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.57% or 1.18 to $44.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 3.00% or 1.42 to hit $45.95 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.25% or 3.20 to trade at $1293.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1513, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.7853.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 92.69.
