Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 5.04% or 1.35 points to trade at 28.13 at the close. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) added 4.09% or 0.23 points to end at 5.72 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) was up 2.77% or 0.46 points to 17.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V), which lost 2.16% or 0.51 points to trade at 23.06 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 1.34% or 0.41 points to end at 30.09 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELI1V) shed 0.75% or 0.25 points to 32.93.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 78 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.75% or 0.35 to $47.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.62% or 0.28 to hit $45.61 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.20% or 15.05 to trade at $1265.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.7764.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.51% at 93.90.
