Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.41% or 0.0009 points to trade at 0.0382 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 2.01% or 0.1200 points to end at 6.1000 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 0.73% or 0.0010 points to 0.1380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 4.94% or 0.1960 points to trade at 3.7730 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.82% or 0.0950 points to end at 11.5050 and Portucel (LS:PTI) shed 0.80% or 0.0260 points to 3.2300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 19 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.38% or 0.17 to $44.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.29% or 0.12 to hit $41.88 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.67% or 20.90 to trade at $1227.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1267, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.7956.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 94.86.
