Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 1.21% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB), which rose 1.29% or 1.610 points to trade at 126.140 at the close. Meanwhile, El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) added 0.93% or 1.750 points to end at 191.100 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 0.50% or 0.210 points to 42.370 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 2.98% or 0.340 points to trade at 11.060 at the close. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) declined 2.69% or 3.080 points to end at 111.500 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was down 2.51% or 0.330 points to 12.840.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 106 to 48 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.98% or 0.340 to 11.060. Shares in Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.51% or 0.330 to 12.840.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.54% or 5.90 to $1091.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.01 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.04 to trade at $52.89 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.19% to 16.2974, while EUR/MXN rose 1.28% to 18.0799.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.73% at 96.63.
