Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Sacyr (MC:SCYR), which rose 12.47% or 0.181 points to trade at 1.633 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 7.83% or 0.257 points to end at 3.537 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was up 5.43% or 0.513 points to 9.952 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 0.09% or 0.004 points to trade at 4.644 in late trade. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 0.14% or 0.050 points to end at 37.165 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) gained 0.17% or 0.003 points to 1.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 155 to 48 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 1.07% or 13.00 to $1233.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.29% or 1.08 to hit $33.86 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.41% or 1.21 to trade at $36.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.0869, while EUR/GBP fell 0.94% to 0.7808.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 98.31.
