Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (MC:REP), which rose 7.50% or 0.661 points to trade at 9.476 at the close. ACS Const. (MC:ACS) added 6.50% or 1.455 points to end at 23.850 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was up 5.82% or 0.935 points to 17.010 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ferrovial (MC:FER), which lost 4.02% or 0.740 points to trade at 17.650 in late trade. Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) declined 3.24% or 0.229 points to end at 6.840 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) shed 3.17% or 0.299 points to 9.125.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 150 to 46 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.40% or 17.30 to $1221.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.87% or 0.62 to hit $33.69 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.47% or 0.87 to trade at $36.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.0924, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.7878.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.74% at 98.16.
