Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Land & Property sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) added 22.73% or 5.00 points to end at 27.00 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 22.17% or 9.20 points to 50.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 23.08% or 600.10 points to trade at 2000.00 at the close. Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) declined 15.12% or 5.70 points to end at 32.00 and Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA) was down 15.00% or 18.00 points to 102.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 111 to 84 and 19 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.61% or 0.18 to $30.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.51% or 0.16 to hit $31.15 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.90% or 10.00 to trade at $1115.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.48% to 204.315, while USD/LKR fell 0.28% to 143.675.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 99.42.
