Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Electricity, Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Minsur (LM:MINi), which rose 6.56% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.650 at the close. Meanwhile, Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) added 3.03% or 0.500 points to end at 17.000 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 1.89% or 0.005 points to 0.270 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bco Continenta (LM:CON), which fell 2.24% or 0.070 points to trade at 3.050 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) declined 1.81% or 0.050 points to end at 2.710 and Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE) was down 1.64% or 0.100 points to 6.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 11 to 7 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Edegel (LM:EDE) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.81% or 0.050 to 2.710. Shares in Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.64% or 0.100 to 6.000.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.25% or 0.54 to $42.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.20% or 0.56 to hit $45.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.08% or 0.90 to trade at $1070.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.27% to 3.3786, while EUR/PEN rose 0.45% to 3.5863.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 99.86.
