Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Beverage, Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares fell 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX), which rose 5.96% or 8.30 points to trade at 147.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Afriquia Gaz (CS:AGAZ1) added 5.83% or 134 points to end at 2430 and Delattre Levivier Maroc (CS:DLM) was up 4.71% or 9.00 points to 200.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brasseries Du Maroc (CS:SBM), which fell 5.97% or 131 points to trade at 2063 at the close. Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) declined 4.00% or 2.00 points to end at 48.00 and Lafarge Ciments (CS:LAC) was down 3.29% or 56 points to 1644.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 21 to 19 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Afriquia Gaz (CS:AGAZ1) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.83% or 134 to 2430.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.43% or 0.60 to $42.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.21% or 0.98 to hit $45.65 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.72% or 7.80 to trade at $1068.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.17% to 10.6670, while USD/MAD rose 0.40% to 10.0390.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 99.94.
