Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food, Travel and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.93%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which rose 10.09% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.120 at the close. Meanwhile, Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 9.57% or 0.029 points to end at 0.332 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 6.43% or 0.09 points to 1.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which fell 14.29% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.102 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) declined 12.86% or 0.018 points to end at 0.122 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) was down 6.64% or 1.46 points to 20.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 52 to 30 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.42% or 15.70 to $1123.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.39% or 0.17 to hit $43.25 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.44% or 0.22 to trade at $49.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.40% to 1.1197, while EUR/GBP rose 0.94% to 0.7160.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.20% at 96.07.
