Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Materials and Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 4.43%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY), which rose 12.40% or 3.56 points to trade at 32.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OL:REC) added 9.46% or 0.08 points to end at 0.91 and Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) was up 7.70% or 1.1 points to 15.9 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 14.43% or 4.3 points to trade at 25.5 at the close. Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) declined 2.36% or 0.1 points to end at 5.8 and Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) was up 0.30% or 0.20 points to 67.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 123 to 51 and 14 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 6.30% or 1.83 to $30.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 7.15% or 2.30 to hit $34.48 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.49% or 5.90 to trade at $1214.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.68% to 9.5479, while USD/NOK fell 0.68% to 8.5686.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.78.
