Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Energy, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 3.50% or 1.86 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 3.42% or 0.44 points to end at 13.29 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 3.36% or 7.30 points to 224.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 2.44% or 1.21 points to trade at 48.39 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 1.81% or 1.23 points to end at 66.63 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) shed 1.48% or 0.91 points to 60.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 285 to 252 and 159 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.38% or 0.17 to $44.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.27% or 0.13 to hit $47.24 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.55% or 6.94 to trade at $1249.56 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.17% to 4.2158, while USD/PLN rose 0.43% to 3.7782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 97.15.
