Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which rose 1.77% or 0.74 points to trade at 42.50 at the close. Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 1.56% or 1.02 points to end at 66.33 and Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) was up 1.40% or 0.41 points to 29.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 0.23% or 0.035 points to trade at 15.245 in late trade. Heineken (AS:HEIN) declined 0.18% or 0.16 points to end at 86.44 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) shed 0.16% or 0.030 points to 18.235.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 44 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 11.58% to 10.49.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.48% or 0.22 to $46.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.50% or 0.24 to hit $48.53 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.46 to trade at $1266.44 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1199, while EUR/GBP fell 0.78% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 97.03.
