Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were AS Company SA (AT:ASCr), which rose 3.45% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 3.38% or 0.050 points to end at 1.560 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 3.02% or 0.080 points to 2.730 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which lost 2.55% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.536 in late trade. Korres (AT:KRRr) declined 2.14% or 0.080 points to end at 3.660 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 2.00% or 0.002 points to 0.098.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 44 and 22 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.67% or 8.45 to $1249.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $51.11 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.31% or 0.17 to trade at $54.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.0665, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8546.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 100.48.
