Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 2.13% or 1.720 points to trade at 82.490 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 1.56% or 2.05 points to end at 133.20 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 1.45% or 0.47 points to 33.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which lost 0.72% or 0.021 points to trade at 2.904 in late trade. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 0.53% or 0.025 points to end at 4.665 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) shed 0.40% or 0.20 points to 49.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 46 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 16.51% to 11.31.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.06% or 0.03 to $49.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $54.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.02% or 13.64 to trade at $1352.64 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.81% to 1.2014, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.9186.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 91.56.
