Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB), which rose 1.83% or 0.59 points to trade at 33.15 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 1.58% or 0.135 points to end at 8.683 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 1.35% or 0.29 points to 22.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which lost 5.15% or 2.31 points to trade at 42.49 in late trade. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) declined 5.00% or 1.75 points to end at 33.22 and NN Group (AS:NN) shed 0.52% or 0.15 points to 29.49.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 50 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.02% to 13.45.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.26% or 0.14 to $53.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.43% or 0.24 to hit $56.05 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.45 to trade at $1238.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.0617, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8522.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 100.86.
