Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 3.63% or 0.3650 points to trade at 10.4100 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) added 3.43% or 0.0390 points to end at 1.1750 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.61% or 0.0013 points to 0.0511 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which fell 1.52% or 0.1800 points to trade at 11.6550 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) declined 0.53% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.3800 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 0.28% or 0.0090 points to 3.1500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 34 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.09% or 0.04 to $37.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.23% or 0.08 to hit $34.87 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.63% or 17.10 to trade at $1066.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.0840, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7275.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 98.90.
