Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Power & Energy, Plantations and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.53% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP), which rose 11.11% or 6.60 points to trade at 66.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) added 11.11% or 6.00 points to end at 60.00 and Richard Pieris Exports PLC (CM:REXP) was up 11.07% or 15.90 points to 159.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) declined 5.56% or 1.00 points to end at 17.00 and Singhe Hospitals Ltd (CM:SIGH) was down 4.76% or 0.10 points to 2.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 163 to 63 and 13 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.15% or 0.07 to $50.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.20% or 0.12 to hit $57.03 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.40 to trade at $1142.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.10% to 209.000, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 133.855.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 97.78.
