Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 5.20% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI), which rose 13.20% or 1.8000 points to trade at 15.4400 at the close. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) added 10.36% or 0.3680 points to end at 3.9200 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) was up 7.71% or 0.194 points to 2.710 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which added 0.07% or 0.01 points to trade at 15.04 in late trade. ENI (MI:ENI) added 0.14% or 0.02 points to end at 14.54 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) gained 0.60% or 0.13 points to 21.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 309 to 58 and 2 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.79% or 0.39 to $49.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.57% or 0.30 to hit $52.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.00% or 12.95 to trade at $1276.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.16% to 1.0852, while EUR/GBP rose 1.46% to 0.8492.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 99.03.
