Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 0.56% or 0.0100 points to trade at 1.7800 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 0.51% or 0.0800 points to end at 15.7650 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 0.40% or 0.0010 points to 0.2490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 2.66% or 0.250 points to trade at 9.158 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 1.93% or 0.0620 points to end at 3.1580 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 1.63% or 0.0212 points to 1.2798.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 30 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.66% or 0.83 to $50.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.57% or 0.77 to hit $49.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.24% or 3.05 to trade at $1269.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.0892, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8950.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 98.94.
