Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 3.03% or 2.29 points to trade at 77.98 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 1.60% or 0.530 points to end at 33.580 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 1.03% or 0.160 points to 15.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 2.78% or 0.710 points to trade at 24.800 in late trade. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) declined 2.60% or 3.020 points to end at 112.950 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) shed 2.10% or 0.45 points to 20.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 77 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.01% or 12.80 to $1255.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.51% or 0.75 to hit $50.58 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.52% or 0.79 to trade at $52.65 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.33% to 19.2716, while EUR/MXN fell 0.18% to 21.4850.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.59% at 96.70.
