Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which rose 1.45% or 0.66 points to trade at 46.10 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.71% or 0.520 points to end at 73.730 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was up 0.50% or 0.39 points to 78.33 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN), which lost 2.71% or 0.93 points to trade at 33.27 in late trade. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) declined 1.75% or 0.41 points to end at 23.36 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) shed 1.75% or 0.26 points to 14.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 81 to 49 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 19.28% to 11.95.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.59% or 0.77 to $47.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.13% or 0.58 to hit $50.77 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.55 to trade at $1202.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.0631, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8742.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 101.43.
