Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which rose 1.10% or 0.70 points to trade at 64.11 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 0.73% or 0.28 points to end at 39.25 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) was up 0.24% or 0.10 points to 40.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 1.43% or 0.113 points to trade at 7.773 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.31% or 0.185 points to end at 13.985 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) shed 1.28% or 0.061 points to 4.710.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 59 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.25% to 14.60 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.59% or 0.30 to $50.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.67% or 0.36 to hit $53.17 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.65 to trade at $1254.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.0657, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8539.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 100.47.
