Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 9.63% or 0.031 points to trade at 0.353 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) added 7.58% or 0.051 points to end at 0.724 and FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) was up 4.41% or 0.190 points to 4.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which lost 4.26% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.315 in late trade. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) declined 3.45% or 0.004 points to end at 0.112 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 3.40% or 0.008 points to 0.227.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 49 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.50% or 6.15 to $1233.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.82% or 1.35 to hit $49.19 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.58% or 1.31 to trade at $52.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.0979, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8499.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 98.77.
