Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 2.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO), which rose 6.25% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.550 at the close. Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII) added 6.08% or 0.0243 points to end at 0.4241 and Unipol (MI:UNPI) was up 5.48% or 0.130 points to 2.504 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atlantia (MI:ATL), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 21.90 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) added 0.23% or 0.0004 points to end at 0.1712 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) gained 0.29% or 0.14 points to 48.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 332 to 78 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.56% or 0.28 to $50.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.56% or 0.29 to hit $51.74 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1256.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0992, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.9013.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 97.92.
