Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG), which rose 5.83% or 0.268 points to trade at 4.866 at the close. ACS Const. (MC:ACS) added 3.45% or 0.940 points to end at 28.160 and Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) was up 2.28% or 0.23 points to 10.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popular (MC:POP), which lost 8.42% or 0.093 points to trade at 1.011 in late trade. Viscofan (MC:VIS) declined 7.00% or 3.310 points to end at 44.000 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) shed 3.78% or 0.048 points to 1.222.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 111 to 93 and 14 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.15% or 1.85 to $1271.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.17% or 0.58 to hit $49.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.13% or 0.57 to trade at $49.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.0945, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.9004.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 98.64.
