Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Auto & components, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OSLO:AKAS), which rose 11.96% or 1.2 points to trade at 11.7 at the close. Meanwhile, Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) added 6.19% or 0.09 points to end at 1.46 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OSLO:NHY) was up 2.47% or 0.77 points to 31.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OSLO:DETNOR), which fell 3.58% or 1.78 points to trade at 47.95 at the close. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT) declined 1.14% or 0.40 points to end at 34.70 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OSLO:GJFS) was down 0.68% or 0.9 points to 131.2.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 104 to 68 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.64% or 0.75 to $44.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.77% or 0.89 to hit $49.10 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.63% or 6.90 to trade at $1083.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.19% to 9.0021, while USD/NOK fell 0.02% to 8.2857.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 98.23.
