Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.94% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 3.47% or 0.1100 points to trade at 3.2830 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) added 2.75% or 0.0190 points to end at 0.7110 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 2.20% or 0.2750 points to 12.7850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 1.67% or 0.161 points to trade at 9.499 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.71% or 0.0130 points to end at 1.8100 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 0.58% or 0.0001 points to 0.0170.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 35 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.38% or 1.23 to $52.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.92% or 1.47 to hit $51.76 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.60% or 7.55 to trade at $1270.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.0964, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 97.92.
