Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO), which rose 1.81% or 1.04 points to trade at 58.64 at the close. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) added 0.95% or 0.33 points to end at 34.72 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) was up 0.68% or 0.33 points to 48.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 3.97% or 0.16 points to trade at 3.90 in late trade. Randstad (AS:RAND) declined 1.79% or 0.84 points to end at 46.38 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 1.55% or 0.99 points to 63.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 60 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.03% to 19.89.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.61% or 0.25 to $41.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.34% or 0.14 to hit $41.34 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.82% or 10.30 to trade at $1244.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1246, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.7815.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 95.34.
