Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Minera Irl (LM:IRL), which unchanged 2.80% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.11 at the close. Relapasa (LM:REL) added 2.38% or 0.005 points to end at 0.215 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) was up 2.04% or 0.030 points to 1.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which unchanged 0% or 0 points to trade at 0.160 in late trade. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 4.60% or 0.990 points to end at 20.510 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 4.60% or 0.040 points to 0.830.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 8 and 14 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.19% or 0.09 to $48.15 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $50.74 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.40 to trade at $1248.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2465, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.5160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 99.48.
