Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Media, Banking and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which rose 3.77% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.550 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) added 3.11% or 0.080 points to end at 2.650 and Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) was up 2.59% or 0.030 points to 1.190 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 3.85% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.100 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 3.69% or 0.009 points to end at 0.235 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) shed 3.30% or 0.060 points to 1.760.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 44 and 24 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.38% or 4.75 to $1258.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.00% or 0.50 to hit $50.74 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.26% or 0.67 to trade at $53.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0660, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8563.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 100.48.
