Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Communication, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 added 0.29% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which rose 2.65% or 84 points to trade at 3256 at the close. Partner (TA:PTNR) added 2.40% or 52 points to end at 2218 and Cellcom (TA:CEL) was up 1.91% or 73 points to 3894 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sodastream International Ltd (TA:SODA), which lost 7.23% or 1380.0 points to trade at 17710.0 in late trade. Harel (TA:HARL) declined 1.51% or 31 points to end at 2021 and Bazan (TA:ORL) shed 1.49% or 2.2 points to 145.2.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 227 to 158 and 56 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.56% or 0.30 to $52.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.84% or 0.47 to hit $55.28 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 8.65 to trade at $1241.75 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.48% to 3.7182, while EUR/ILS rose 0.14% to 3.9655.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 100.50.
