Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Insurance, Transport and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD), which rose 6.26% or 0.420 points to trade at 7.130 at the close. Bim Magazalar (IS:BIMAS) added 3.73% or 1.90 points to end at 52.90 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) was up 3.30% or 0.66 points to 20.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which lost 3.31% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.170 in late trade. Izmir Demir Celik (IS:IZMDC) declined 2.66% or 0.090 points to end at 3.290 and Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) shed 2.52% or 0.030 points to 1.160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 256 to 98 and 54 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.12% or 1.45 to $1226.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.32% or 0.17 to hit $53.37 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.19 to trade at $56.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.67% to 3.6747, while EUR/TRY rose 0.64% to 3.8876.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 101.28.
