Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which rose 1.24% or 0.38 points to trade at 31.10 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 0.63% or 0.028 points to end at 4.464 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 0.19% or 0.0150 points to 8.0000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which lost 3.39% or 0.220 points to trade at 6.265 in late trade. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) declined 3.23% or 1.19 points to end at 35.61 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 3.20% or 0.175 points to 5.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 59 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.26% or 0.70 to $55.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.60% or 0.85 to hit $52.13 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.57% or 6.55 to trade at $1165.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.0657, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8389.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 100.86.
