Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 5.71% or 1.000 points to trade at 18.500 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) added 4.00% or 0.050 points to end at 1.300 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 1.54% or 0.210 points to 13.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edegel (LM:EDE), which lost 7.59% or 0.230 points to trade at 2.800 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 4.44% or 0.006 points to end at 0.129 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 1.72% or 0.010 points to 0.570.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 11 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.38% or 0.65 to $47.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.70 to trade at $1323.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3935, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7860.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.43.
