Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Aena Aeropuertos SA (MADRID:AENA), which rose 1.79% or 1.75 points to trade at 99.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Endesa (MADRID:ELE) added 1.66% or 0.300 points to end at 18.370 and Amadeus IT (MADRID:AMA) was up 0.11% or 0.045 points to 39.390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek), which fell 7.43% or 0.180 points to trade at 2.244 at the close. Mapfre (MADRID:MAP) declined 6.73% or 0.218 points to end at 3.023 and B. Sabadell (MADRID:SABE) was down 5.78% or 0.129 points to 2.104.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 171 to 43 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.90% or 9.80 to $1084.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.93% or 0.45 to hit $48.00 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.55% or 0.85 to trade at $54.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0976, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.7077.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 97.41.
