Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Tourism, Food & Beverages and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which rose 14.55% or 0.160 points to trade at 1.260 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) added 10.91% or 0.120 points to end at 1.220 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was up 7.58% or 0.92 points to 13.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN) declined 4.09% or 0.380 points to end at 8.900 and Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) was down 4.07% or 0.070 points to 1.650.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 260 to 143 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.71% or 7.60 to $1060.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.96% or 1.12 to hit $36.75 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.77% or 1.04 to trade at $36.74 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.71% to 2.9274, while EUR/TRY rose 0.61% to 3.1975.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 98.42.
