Investing.com – Sweden equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 declined 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Svenska Handelsbanken ser. A (ST:SHBa), which rose 1.43% or 1.6 points to trade at 113.5 at the close. Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken A (ST:SEBa) added 0.99% or 0.85 points to end at 86.95 and Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb) was up 0.77% or 3.50 points to 459.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SKF, AB ser. B (ST:SKFb), which lost 3.66% or 5.3 points to trade at 139.6 in late trade. Boliden AB (ST:BOL) declined 3.23% or 4.30 points to end at 128.80 and Atlas Copco AB ser. A (ST:ATCOa) shed 2.53% or 5.2 points to 200.6.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 344 to 189 and 56 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.70% or 0.65 to $37.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.31% or 0.95 to hit $40.12 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.93% or 11.70 to trade at $1269.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.56% to 9.3412, while USD/SEK fell 0.82% to 8.3772.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.85% at 96.36.
