Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Trading, Services and Plantations sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.35% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 12.50% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.90 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 10.00% or 0.10 points to end at 1.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was up 9.94% or 3.40 points to 37.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 23.21% or 528.00 points to trade at 1747.00 at the close. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) declined 9.09% or 0.20 points to end at 2.00 and Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) was down 8.79% or 2.90 points to 30.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 122 to 94 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 52-week lows; up 10.00% or 0.10 to 1.00. Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) fell to all time lows; falling 9.09% or 0.20 to 2.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.18% or 1.00 to $45.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.71% or 0.81 to hit $48.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.20 to trade at $1119.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 210.150, while USD/LKR fell 0.04% to 137.610.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 96.16.
