Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Insurance, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 9.59% or 1.58 points to trade at 18.16 at the close. Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 69.00 and Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) was up 4.38% or 35.00 points to 834.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which lost 4.08% or 0.29 points to trade at 6.76 in late trade. Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) declined 3.85% or 1.44 points to end at 36.00 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) shed 3.70% or 1.00 points to 25.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 37 to 16 and 40 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.31% or 0.15 to $47.68 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $50.69 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 3.86 to trade at $1228.06 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.11% to 342.330, while USD/NGN fell 0.39% to 315.250.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 99.14.
